Succession
Primary succession is when there is no soil or plants growing in an area. But, soil is made from rocks and lichens and mosses begin to grow. Secondary succession is where a natural disaster or human disaster gets rid of all the plant life but leaves the soil in its place. A pioneer species, found in the primary succession, is the first plant to move into an area. Lichens and mosses are normally first along with some grasses. A climax community is where most of the plant life is at it most mature stage. There is little to no more succesion happening in the area.
