The Korean War

The Korean War was a war that was fought between the Republic of Korea (South Korea) and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea). The war started when the northern side of Korea started to invade the southern side. North Korea wanted to unify Korea under a communist government. Because of this, the United Nations put out an order for countries such as the United States to provide protection and support. The United States was able to push back the North Koreans causing a stalemate. As a result, Korea divided into North Korea and South Korean.
