The Taliban Attack
On 9 October 2012, a Taliban gunman shot Malala as she rode home on a bus after taking an exam. They had just passed a military checkpoint when the two gunmen showed up. One caused the bus to stop while the other went for the girls. The gunman entered the bus and asked one question; "Who is Malala?" He shouted. The gun man then looked at Malala who was the only one without her face covered. He shot hitting Malala above the left eye. He fired two more which hit one in the collar bone and the have. The other girl walked away with only a graze. Malala was sent to the hospital immediately. Her father was speaking to officials when he heard the new that a school was had been fired on. He gave his speech before finding out that Malala was injured and rushed to the hospital. She eventually had an 10cm square of her skull removed to make room for her brain swelling. She was then sent to a army hospital and one other before finally ending up in Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham.
