Stand out, you have to give them something to remember you by.
On February 8th,1990, another amazing human being was born. No, it's not me yet, wait about ten years and two days. Anyway back to February 8th, that was the day, that one of the literal greatest English teachers to ever live was born… Okay, so maybe not the greatest, I'm sure that Beyoncé’s kid has an amazing English teacher, but this isn't about her teacher, it's about Jessica McRae or as I like to call her Early Modern Mac, Homeslice, or McRae crae. She's 26, married, and working vigorously towards her masters degree in instructional coaching. She has had many happy times but in fact the happiest she has ever been was when her husband, Chad, proposed to her. The saddest time for her is always when a person or pet dies. As a child of about five or six Jessica remembers going pond fishing, which is all she can do is because that way you at least catch something. She went with her uncle and grandparents, she caught a perch which is generally a pretty small fish. This time however, it was huge, it was about eleven inches or about the size of her grandpas hand and she remembers thinking it was just the coolest thing ever that she caught a fish the size of her grandpas hand. While she has been a role model for me, she also has role models because let's face it we all have one whether or not we want to admit it. Her role model also happens to be a teacher, her name was Kelly Locke. In Jess’s words “she was just so smart, and she could just teach like I've never seen any person teach before” Jessica says “a good role model is someone you aspire to be, you're not that person yet but you know that, that person is just inherently good and you look up to them, you aspire to be them.” Jessica has had to work hard all her life, try to be independent, and try to be responsible for the things she needs to be responsible for. It has paid off, when she graduated her bachelor's program from Missouri Western in 2012, she got the top English teacher graduate award. At this moment in time there are two things that are important to her, one is a professional goal and the other is a personal goal. Her professional goal is to get her masters degree. Her personal goal is to start a family, since she is twenty six she is feeling a little pressured.
