Mountains

There are two main mountain ranges in California. One is the Coast Ranges and the other is the Sierra Nevada.

The climate on the western side of the Coast Ranges is wet, because of the Pacific Ocean. The eastern side is dry.

The Sierra Nevada mountain range gets snow starting late October to early November. It is sunny in the summer.

Mt. Whitney is located in the Sierra Nevada and is the highest mountain peak in the United States.
