Biome, Ecosystem, and Habitat
•Biome- Hawaiian monk seals live in the aquatic marine/ocean biome. The marine biome covers about 70% of Earth. It includes the oceans and coral reefs. It influences the weather by providing rain, and it can result in currents and waves in the ocean.
•Ecosystem- Hawaiian monk seals live on remote islands of Northwestern Hawaii that are surrounded by coral reefs, which they use as a food source. They live in a coral reef ecosystem which is dependent upon the surrounding terrestrial and marine environment.
•Habitat- Monk seals spend most of their time swimming in the warm waters of the ocean, but they also bathe in the sun on the sandy beach shores. They sometimes use the beach vegetation as shelter from storms.
