Venus and Adonis from a set of Mythological Subjects after Raphael, by Giuliani Romano, 1686
Description

Interpret
In this tapestry, the Roman goddess of love, Venus, is seated next the handsome Adonis. While the couple are seated on what appears to be a throne, joyious angels surround them.
The purpose of this tapestry was to revisit Roman mythology. This serves as almost a homage to Rome.
The use of the color blue and red aids in making certain objects stand out.
The shading on the right side balances out the left side.
The diagonal lines in the arms help to create movement.
