Jennifer Bowman, 2011

Describe

Summer Flowers

-composed of two flowers
-petals contain different shades of colors to help show reflection of light
-thin strokes for stem and stigma of the flower
-warm color scheme
-mostly dynamic lines
-lots of implied shapes in the background

Analyze

-dark purple accents bright colors in flowers
-eyes drawn to orange flower then pulled by stigma towards yellow flower whose stigma leads the eye towards the background in the upper left corner
- lack of detail in background makes flowers more dominant

Interpret

The focus the artist put in the flowers colors and edges conveys how much detail and complexity can exist in such small things in nature.
