THE GROWTH OF TOWNS
While most of the residents of Texas live in ranches and farms, the population of towns were starting to grow very rapidly. Areas like Galveston, San Antonia, Houston, New Braunfels, and Austin were growing very rapidly, mainly due to native Texans and immigrants moving into them. Still, none of them were called cities since they weren't big enough snd underdeveloped.
