RURAL LIFE IN TEXAS

Between 1846 and 1860 many Texans bought up land and made ranches because the land was cheap. Many of the the farmers and ranchers tried to be successful failed to make money. Really the only ones to make money were the cotton and sugar cane famers since it was a cash crop. Ranchers were also doing very well with there livestock too.
