The coastal region is one of the four regions in California. It is 1,300 miles of land that build up the coast of California. The coast are the many beaches such as Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, and Venice beach. It may be foggy because when the cool air from the ocean meets the warm air from farther inland the fog forms. In Northern California there is more fog because the water is cooler there. In the coastal region they use their land mainly for cities, towns, oil, dairy farming, fishing, ranching, and manufacturing.
