Building An Empire Continued

One of the Aztecs cities was called Tenochtitlan. It was a wealthy city, but their location made trade harder so they built raised roads to go to the shore.
The lake water was dirty so they built an aqueduct to produce fresh water. Farming was also difficult so they built chinampas which were floating gardens.
It soon became the greatest city in the Americas. Once the Europeans came they were impressed with the temples, busy markets, clean streets, and a huge palace.
200000 lived here but the Europeans soon destroyed it.
