In the 1400's the Spanish explorers arrived in the Americas ,which were later called Conquistadors, came to spread christianity and to collect gold. Cortes landed in Mexico in 1519. Moctezuma believed he was a god because he resembled a god who they thought would return.

The Spanish had others help them defeat the Aztecs like an Indian woman . They acquired guns through trade and brought horses. They also blocked rivers and causeways which meant others starved. They also brought a disease which they could not fight.

Moctezuma two sent him gifts like gold, but he wanted more gold so he went to Tenochtitlan and took him Moctezuma prisoner. Moctezuma later died in a battle with the Indians and Spanish.

The End of the Aztecs
