The Sixties and Beyond

February 7,1964

The Beatles Came to America

In the 1960s, the Beatles were a major attraction to people all around the world. This British boy band was formed in Liverpool, England in late 1960. During the 1960s, this band started a new generation of music.

It wasn't until four years later that the Beatles came to the U.S. on the "Ed Sullivan Show," to play live for the first time. Over this decade, the band was influenced by drugs, and therefore let that influence their music, and caused a large variety of drug use in america.

The Beatles first visit to the U.S. was advertised.
