Sidney Poitier comes to dinner

In the film, Guess Who Comes to Dinner starring Spencer Tracy, Sidney Poitier, and Katherine Hepburn, considered to be a shocking film during that time. The movie featured a positive view of interracial marriage. During this time, it was illegal in at least 17 states in the U.S., and finished filming shortly after Tracy died, it was released six months after his death in December 1967, Hepburn never saw the film, saying "the memories of Tracy were too strong."

Guess who comes to dinner was the ninth and final on screen pairing of Tracy and Hepburn.
