Succession

Primary Succession
-Primary succession occurs in a area with bare rock. It would occur in a mountain, volcano, etc. This makes the bare rock areas have life added to it.

Secondary Succession
-Secondary succession occurs in a area that has been disturbed. Like if a forest catches on fire and there is nothing, and something starts to grow back to create another forest.

Pioneer Species
- These are the first species to grow in an area where succession has occurred.

Grass

Weeds

Moss

Lichens

Climax Community
-An ecosystem where succession has virtually stopped. An example is a forest that has fully grown to its maximin.

Both of them have fully grown tress that are HUGE.
