How do blood and blood vessels work?

Red blood cells, white blood cells, and the platelets are suspended in the plasma. Plasma is made up of water and proteins. Plasma transports nutrients and vitamins obtained from the digestive food you eat. Red blood cells make up about 40% of your blood and white blood cells and platelets make up about 4% of your blood.
