March 22, 1519
Potonchan, Mexico
I took Agular and my crew across the Yucatan coast and arrived in Potonchan, Mexico in March 22. I know that the people of this city has gave gold as a gift to other explorers; I expect the same gift. I have requested the Chief of the Indians for three days to come ashore but they refused, or rather I would say "ignored" my request. I am so tired of waiting till we can enter the city of Potonchan. They have made us wait on the ships for too long. I am getting my men prepared for any battle that can come our way. All the muskets, crossbows, and cannons. My most valued weapons is my strong and fierce dogs that is trained for war and my second is the horses that take us around the "new world". With these weapons I am unstoppable!
They are afraid of my horses, dogs, and cannons. We were in war as we shot cannons! As I ordered my men to do a rear flank attack and of that the bloody battle came to an end.
I have defeated them! They have Gifted me with gold, food, and precious woman. I have seen a very talented woman named Malinche. Her launguage speaking skills is my most wanted thing at this moment. I know I will meet different people and I will take her as my translator.
