April, 1519
Veracruz, Mexico
In order to conquer Montezuma I decided to start further north. I sailed through the Gulf of Mexico to the city of Veracruz. With both of my translators I arrived to the city of Veracruz and found out there were other native people who owned taxes to the Aztec Empire and Motezuma! I could see these people were very unhappy. In order to defeat Montezuma and the Empire I will need to exploit every weakness of Montezuma. As I have said, God will show me a way to success! As we walk towards the Empire the people of Montezuma gave me gifts of gold on my way but they said not to enter their capital of Tenochtitlan. I have told them anyways I will come to their capital to show tributary to the "Great" Montezuma in person.
