The rich and the poor both hand types of housing. The poor lived in simple flats or apartments. Inside would be symbolic of your lack of wealth. These apartments were known as a insulae and only had two rooms at the most. It would have nothing in it except a fireplace and a mat to sleep on. If you are rich you can stay at a single-story house which is built around a central hall known as an atrium. The houses roof is designed so that when it rains you can collect the rainwater so that you can drink and bathe. The main rooms are decorated with colored plaster walls and beautiful mosaics. You will have water pump to you and your house is heated. There is also a backyard with a marvelous garden.
