Political Systems

The political system in Spain was a monarchy. There was a king and queen and they were in almost complete control.

The Spanish government was called a Cortes. They had some power in decision making, but the ultimate decision was the king and queens. Nobles had high ranks, but not much power in government.
The Roman Catholic Church was a huge part of Spanish living, making it a big part of government as well. Although the church is supposed to be the main power, the king and queen took away some of its privileges, making them the main power.
