Geography

The Mayans were as early as 1000 BC. They created farmland by clearing land. They killed and ate deer and monkeys for food. Trees were their building supplies. Mayans were traders. They traded things like a obsidian, a weaapon

The Mayans had 40 cities that grew from 5000 to 50000 each. They grew and traded goods with each other. Their ruler was called a Pacal and he had a huge temple in his honor. They also had plazas for gatherings and terrace farming. Cities battled for land and power. Enemies were sacrificed for the gods.
