The great man
Edison was a great hero for the U.S and the world. He was 32 when he invented the lightbulb.Wife Mary died in 1884. Edison was very sad. He met a women named Mina. Mina was educated and wealthy. Edison ask Mina to marry him by using the Morse code. They got married in New Jersey. They moved to a large house in West Orange.
Edison's next big invention was a machine called a kinetoscope that showed moving pictures. They were very short silent movie and one person can look at it at a time. The movies were sixteen seconds long. People were very excited about this invention.
Edison made his own movie studio. He also made the first camera. There would not be movies now without Edison and his staff. Edison continued to work on new thing for the rest of his life. He ended up getting 1,093 patents for new inventions. That is world recorded for most inventions! Edison died on October 18,1931. Three days later electric lights across the U.S. We're dimmed in his honor.
