In Depth: Regulation of Temp~~

While the Tiranha is on land, physiologically, it will react to a hot change in temperature by the brain detecting the stimulus. Then, the brain will respond by sending messages throughout the Tiranha to issue a response. One way the Tiranha stays cool on land is by panting, similar to dogs. One way the Tiranhas regulate their temperature behaviorally is by going to shaded areas and cooling off in ponds. Tigers have a fur of coat year round which helps them stay warm. But, going into cooler months, the tiger may grow a layer of fat or develop a thicker coat, depending on how cold their region gets. While in the water for a long period of time, the Tiranha will react like an ectotherm. In water, the Tiranha seeks out areas of cool or hot water, depending on what it is trying to achieve. If the Tiranha is trying to cool down,it will swim to colder water. If the Tiranha is trying to warm up, it will swim to hotter water.
