Tiranha's relatives/ancestors

The Tiranha is related to the the Bengal Tiger and the Piranha.

The Tiranha's ancestors are the Megapiranha paranensis which lived 10 million years ago. It was about 20 lbs, 3 feet long, and had a bite force greater than prehistoric whales.

The Tiranha's other ancestor is the Dormaalocyon latouri which was the ancestor of tigers as well as lions and bears. It was small (about 2lbs), lived in trees, and survived mostly off of bugs and small animals.
