Insertion mutation: the addition of one or more nucleotides base pairs to a DNA sequence.
Example: An example of Insertion mutation is Muscular Dystrophy. Some forms of this disease are caused by tri- or tetra-nucleotides repeating, (CTG)n and (CCTG)n, repeats where n may run into the thousands.
