Social structure

Family relations:

- Pharaohs often married their sisters.

-Royalty had more than one wife, while most others only had one

-Poor families lived in a one room, small shack, whereas white wealthy people lived in brick homes, and noble families lived in huge palaces.

-The father was the head of the house. Children and unmarried relatives lived under the same roof.

Gender roles:

women- were to take care of the house and children

men- inherit fathers job and provide for their family.

Social class:

Pharaoh, government officials- nobles, priests, soldiers, scribes, merchants, artisans, farmers, slaves, and servings.

Politics

Government: the all around ruler of the people was the pharaoh.

law code: whatever the pharaoh says to do, goes. "They are the law"

Leaders: Pharaohs, Cleopatra, Khafra
