Pro Slavery Arguments

Some pro slavery advocates used the Bible to defend slavery using and telling passages that counseled servants to obey their masters. By the 1830s Most white Christian ministers agreed that slaves and Christianity could co exist. A lot of slave owners invented a myth about a happy slaved as a loved and cherished addition to the plantation family. They stated that southerners cared for their slaves for a lifetime.
