Discussion

Ammonia overall was a big factor in the deaths of most fish. It was constantly above the expected safe amount zero. A cause of the ammonia is tap water, if the water hasn't sat out long enough before being put in the tank it can cause ammonia levels to increase. Ammonia can also be put in a tank through waste products fish can give off, through the breakdown of it ammonia is released in the tank. This is why the tank must constantly be cleaned out and the water changed in it. Also this can lead into future experiments with the knowledge gained from this one, it can help to make sure ammonia levels are good next time or other experiments can be done with plant life growing in the tank.
