Sorry I haven't wrote in a while there has been many more injuries the past few day than I have seen since I have been here. a new load comes in I hope Jesse isn't on one of the gurneys. Today is my Lucy's birthday she is three and I'm missing her birthday party. my mother says she still write to me and Jesse with a picture to see what she looks like, but still i wish to be there to see her eating my mother special cake. Seeing her opening her presents not knowing how long we will be at war is killing me because I don't know how much I will miss of her life. Now onto a new subject nurse dresses, I believe they are my enemy. In this spring heat I'm about to die because it is so hot in these black cotton dresses. Mary says she wishes she is going to burn hers after the war because she hates them so much. I'm just glad that I'm not on the battle feud like these men seeing their injuries I wonder what they do to stay alive and how they deal seeing the person beside them die or their best friend die because they were too injured to be saved. Yesterday I saw a person with their arm torn off from the cannonball and another one with a eye shoot out from a bullet. Time for lunch we are having a sandwich and a had full of chips which can barley get me through to dinner time, the sandwiches are my favorite because the cooks don't know how to cook anything else, sometimes I think k to myself you needed to be a cook not a nurse you could give these cooks a lesson. I will leave with that note and I will write as soon as a can, who knows how long that will be.
