May 14, 1861

Like I was saying last week my mother would send me pictures of Lucy at her birthday well today I got them she reminds me of Jesse of just she looks here is the picture.Isn't she beautiful she looks so grown up from the last time I saw her in her small play bed watching suck on her past holding her blanket as she called it. I made the blanket myself for her before she was born and she loves it. I miss her so much it kills me missing her everyday sometimes I cry just wishing I could see her. At least I have Jesse to keep me company since he isn't fighting right now he is with me talking to his friends. Grateful that he hasn't been injuried like his friend John. who is the guy who's arm gotten off by a cannonball. Jesse carried him in I ran and hugged him and I got joes blood allover my dress which It will probably stain. For a reminder when we get done with the war.yesterday me and Jesse got in a fight because we couldn't decide where to live after here I want to live beside my mom but Jesse wants to move back to Maryland. Which is were he lived before he moved here when he was 16. I will talk to you the next time I can which might be a while because we are going to have to start fighting again in a week. So there will be more drafts and more injuries to be taken care of.
