December 3,1861

It has been almost a year since I have wrote and a bunch has happened since I have last wrote we have been fighting a bunch and many deaths have came through and I have been too tired to write. I have had at least twenty injuries a day and at least a death a day there is some much sadness and stress the last few months than ever.me and Jesse have decided to live were near my mother because Lucy loves her grandmother so much, and she could take care of her while we work. My dress is now covered in blood stains from the countless injuries. I think I will burn mine when i get back home. Which is now farther than usual since we moved to a Maryland camp to get more war supplies and a better point of entry a at the confederacy. The food at the Maryland camp is better and the rations are bigger which makes me happy. Mary says these rations will be better because she is pregnant we have been friend since grade school. Her husband John and Jesse have been friend since Jesse has moved here. After the war

Is over we were talking about maybe living in the same neighborhood so that Lucy and her child can be friends too. But who know what we will do but one thing I'm sure I'm going to do after I get out of here is hug my Lucy and eat some real food. After that I will take a long and hot shower to take all the stress out of my life. So I can go back to being a housewife. Oh how I wish to lay in a clean comfortable bed, talk to my mother, see Lucy playing with her toys, and see Jesse coming home from work again. What I would do for a simple life again, but it will come soon enough. I will write to you sooner a new load has come in and it looks big.
