The Second Great Awakening
The Second Great Awakening was a religious movement that swept the United States, and began after 1790. The movement encouraged Christians to do good deeds, for one can only get into Heaven by doing so. It also emphasized Individualism and responsibility, which was mostly implied at revivals, or religious gatherings.
