The Beginning

The underground railroad began when more slaves wanted to escape and more people wanted to help them be freed from their cruel lives. Many slaves were beaten and tortured. Some were seperated from their loved ones, being a slave was an unfourfilling life, to say the least, so escaping was a very appealing idea.
