Place mannequin's head in a natural, upright position.
Stand behind the mannequin and separate the left from the
right side.
Begin the parting at the front hairline and end at the nape.
Next, stand at the side of the head, place the comb at the
crown of the head and bring section down to just behind
the ear.
Repeat on the opposite side.
Hair is now sectioned into standard quadrants.
Create a diamond shaped section over the crown. This is where the hair cut begins.
Separate the diamond shape in half with a horizontal parting.
A 1/4 inch subsection is combed straight up 90 degrees and cut to the desired length.
This length is based on texture and density of the hair.
take a vertical subsection within this section. (use previously cut guide to establish the length)
The length established in the crown serves as the guide for the rest of the cut.
(Each subsection pivots from the crown)
Drop the front quadrants and comb the hair forward.
Take a vertical center subsection from the crown to the front hairline.
Use guide in the crown and follow it to the front hairline.
Hair is elevated to 90 degrees and cut.
Fingers follow the shape of the head as you move toward the front hairline.
take pie shaped subsections and pivot from the crown area on the first side.
(Take the next pie shaped subsection and a small portion of the previously cut hair as a guide)
Continue to angle your fingers and follow the shape of the head as you move toward the hairline.
As you follow the head shape, weight is removed .
The right side is complete when you reach the parting that divides the front from the back at the ear.
(Repeat the same process on the opposite side to complete the front)
The guide established in the crown is the guide for the back.
Drop the back quadrants and create a vertical parting from the crown to the nape.
Use the guide established in the crown.
Follow this through the subsection until you reach the nape.
Hold each subsection at 90 degrees from where it grows.
Position fingers to follow the shape of the head.
Each new subsection pivots from the crown
When you reach the area behind the ear, the length should be equal to the established length in the front.
Cross check horizontally and remove points that do not blend
Accurately follow the original guide and the head shape to ensure that back and front sections meet.
Repeat the same process on the opposite side.
Once the cut is complete, check the blend from side to side
