Chris Vaughn used a silver 9mm handgun to kill his wife and three children. He pulled the car over and shoved the pistol under his wife's chin and pulled the trigger, killing her instantly. Then he turned on his three sleeping children and shot them each once in the chest and once in the head, with the last one, Blake, raising his arms to defend himself before being killed. He then wrapped his jacket around the barrel of the pistol to cushion the force of the bullet before shooting himself in the thigh to attempt to frame his wife.
