Watergate Scandal - 1972

The Watergate scandal was a major political scandal that occurred in the United States in the 1970s as a result of the June 17, 1972, break-in at the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate office complex in Washington, D.C., and

the Nixon administration's attempted cover-up of its involvement. In Forrest Gump, they show Forrest calling the security at his hotel because he was people in another hotel room looking around with flash lights. That ended up being the robbers in the watergate scandal. The scandal was somewhat portrayed well with the robbers but it was not called in or seen by a civilian.
