As you know...

There are many different ways Pokemon evolve. Some are through trades, others through levels. This time I'm talking mainly about the starter evolutions. The Pokemon you first recive, your starter, is level five at first. Lvl 6 after you beat your rival in a battle. You can level it up by battling of corse. All starters evolve through leveling. Most starters evolve at level 16, and then at 36. Others evolve sooner or later than that. Some starters even have their own mega evolution. Not all starters have a mega evolution but the creators of Pokemon on working on it. So far charmander, bulbasoar, squirtle, treeko, torchick, and mudkip have mega evolutions. Hopefully there are soon to be more. You can mega evolve your Pokemon by giving it the right kind of stone. You must have a mega ring as well. For example, in Pokemon x, to mega evolve your charsard, you need a charsardite x and you need a mega ring. The charsard would be holding the stone and your character wearing the mega ring. Once you get Into a battle, the option to mega evolve would be there. Mega evolution, however, doesn't stay perniment.
