There are a lot of items in Pokemon. Some heal, some make Pokemon stronger, some are just eaten for no reason, some are used to help you beat the game, some are moves your Pokemon can learn, some let you catch Pokemon, and some even evolve Pokemon! Some items are also held by your Pokemon to boost up a certain move or to get you more poke money. Some also hurt opponents and protect your Pokemon. There are ways that make these items unusable though. Certain wild Pokemon can learn moves that can make it to where you can't use items or to where they steal the item your Pokemon is holding.
