Cathy is scared and worried about being alone after she hears of her fathers illness. She hears of Linton's illness and visits him at night to help him get better.

Wants to marry Cathy and pretends to be dying of a broken heart. Is very whiny and has Cathy take care of him.

Tries to read off of front gate to prove to Cathy he is literate, he can only read his name. He gets angry after being called a dunce by Cathy and throws Linton outside.

Takes care of Cthy while Edgar is sick, she lets her visit Linton, but dislikes him. Soon gets sick and learns about Cathy sneaking out.

Father of Linton. Convinces Cathy to visit his son and goes away for a few days.

Has gotten sick with a cold, and has told Cathy of how wicked a man Heathcliff is. In the end he bans Cathy from going to Wuthering Heights.
