The contrasting themes and traditions in Classical and Baroque Sculpture

Chapter 24

In this chapter we see the characters progression in relationships and themselves. Cathy belittles Hareton as he tries to show her he can read. Hareton gets angry and jealous of Cathy and her growing fondness for Linton.

Significance

The relationship between Catherine and Linton begins to be strained and fragile as they continue to argue. Cathy and Nellys confidentiality come to an end when Nelly told Edgar of her outings. This makes the definite solitude between Cathy and Linton as well as the laters worsening health.
