Savanna

Tropical or temperate grasslands that have scattered deciduous trees and shrubs.

The Savanna's of Africa are the best known , but this biome also occurs in South America and Australia.

Savanna's receive more rainfall than deserts do but less rain than tropical rain forest do.

Like the temperate grasslands the savanna supports large numbers of herbivores such as

- zebras

- wildebeests

- giraffes

- gazelles
