Chaparral is a biome which is dominated by dense , spiny , shrubs and has many various coniferous trees.

Chaparral is characterized by mild , rainy winters , and hot and dry summers , with periodic fires.

This biome is located in the middle latitudes , about 30 degrees north and 30 degrees south of the equator.

Chaparral is primarily found in the costal regions for example , around the Mediterranean Sea and Southern California.
