Temperate grasslands

They form in the interior of continents at about the same latitude as temperate deciduous forests.

The rainfall makes it very dry to support trees.

At one point this biome covered large areas North America , Asia , Europe , Australia , and South America.

They have rich fertile soils

There are 3 types of grasslands.

- Marsh

- swamp

- bogs
