Women in Abolition

-Women played a large roll in the abolition movement.

-Even though women could not directly take part in the movement, they persuaded men to take action against slavery.

-Some women, such as Hannah More and Mary Birkett, wrote literature about slavery.

-Women also organized sugar boycotts to hurt the slave powered sugar industry.
