Native Texans
Most Native Texans were pushed out of Texas during his presidency. His plan was called the removal of the native texans. A fair amount of Comanches and Kiowas still existed in East Texas though. The natives got more angrier when this loss of land happened. A line of military posts were put up to stop the the natives and the settlers from fighting. In the 1850's the western movement happened which pushed settlers farther away from native texans. Robert S. Neighbors suggested that land was set aside for native texans, so the Texas government passed a bill for his suggestion.in 1854 he set out to find the land to be set aside. The Brazos Reservation was set aside for the Towakonis's, the Wacos, and the Tonkawas and in addition founded farther west was the Clear Fork reservation. Native texans refused to live in the reservation boundaries and the settlers kept crossing the borders. Soon the native texans were forced to move out of Texas.
