The Changing Population
The annexation of Texas created multiple opportunities for settlers, and the population changed drastically. In 1850, the population was just over 212,000 people, but by 1860 it changed and became 604,000. Anglo Americans were a huge part of the population, but many settlers were also becoming a big part. Native Americans were also being kicked out. In the first place people came to Texas for adventure, political reasons or to escape problems in there homeland.
