Migration from the United States

Most of the settlers were immigrating from the south. Some moved one state, some moved two and others sometimes moved more than two. In the 1850's, many settlers came from Arkansas, Louisiana, Alabama, and Tennessee. People usually settled where it seemed the most similar to their previous homes.
