Although the Nile provided many things for the Egyptians, it also had its downsides.

According to Prezi.com,”When living near the Nile, sometimes it would flood and destroy all of the crops which could be real problem since the people of ancient Egypt could only plant one time a year.” The fact that overflooding could ruin their crops and they most likely couldn’t plant more is a major downfall. Aside from the floods, the Nile contains treacherous rapid, and large rocks that make traveling dangerous for visitors. Oppressive heat can lead to dehydration and fatigue; when combined with a lack of drinkable water, people can be in danger of overheating. Careful planning can minimize the dangers of the Nile, it is not possible to eliminate the risks that one will find as they travel. Not only was the Nile itself dangerous, but the animals that it contained were VERY hazardous.
