Description: It's two palm trees with a sunset in the background. There is a sun in the shape of a circle. It looks like there is a lake on the bottom cause it's mostly blue on the bottom. There is grass around the palm trees. The sunset has all these beautiful colors such as blue, yellow, red, and orange.

Analysis:  The elements of art he uses are line, shape, form, and color. He used the element of line by putting horizontal lines in the whole background of the picture. He used the element of shape by putting the sun in the back in the shape of a circle. The element of form is used in the trees because they are an organic form found in nature. Color is used throughout the whole painting beautifully. He mostly used warm colors for the sunset. He mixed in some blue with the warm colors to show how the day time sky is slowly going away because night is coming. The principle of design I noticed were emphasis and unity. I felt like he was emphasizing the sun in the back cause my eye went straight to it. I also felt like all the elements worked really well altogether.

Interpretation: The element of line gives a mood of calmness. It gives a mood of calmness because the straight horizontal lines aren't too crazy, they're pretty calm looking to me. The picture doesn't make look all around the picture crazily. I just looked from side to side because that's where the lines led me. At sunset everything starts to slow down and everyone is home from work. It's a calm time in the evening to me.

Judgement: I kind've like this painting. I feel like he could've done a better job with blending the colors together in the back. It brings me to a summer evening watching the sunset though. He did a good job with making the person feel like they were there.
